Author Guidelines

Guidelines for Authors

Text Anonymization: If authors choose to remain anonymous, the following guidelines for anonymization should be followed.

In order to ensure the anonymity of authors and reviewers during the evaluation and selection process, the author's name should not appear in the body of the submitted text, except as a third-person reference (see below). Any reference that might identify the author (e.g., indication of prior presentations at seminars, first-person references to previous works, etc.) must be removed from the text. In this regard, texts should NOT include a cover page. It is also important to remove the author’s name from the document properties, if present.

Author's Own Work: References to your own work should be made in the third person, so as not to reveal your identity. For example, replace any phrases such as "as we have previously shown" with "as previously shown (Author, Year)." If it is necessary to cite your previous work, do not include references that are not widely available or that could reveal your identity through document details.

Document Metadata: Ensure that the document's metadata is free of all identifying information. This includes author names, institutional details, and any other information that could reveal the authors' identity. Instructions for removing metadata vary depending on the software and can generally be found in the "Properties" or "File Information" section of the document.

Acknowledgments Section: If you have acknowledgments that could reveal your identity, such as information about grants or thanks to individuals for assistance, these should be removed from the initial submission and included only in the final draft after acceptance.

File Names: Do not include personal names in the filenames of documents submitted for review; instead, use descriptive titles and version numbers (e.g., "Manuscript_v1.pdf").

Figures and Tables: Ensure that figures and tables do not contain identifying information or metadata that could reveal the authors' identity. This includes checking the properties of all images and the text of all tables.

Articles

Articles should be written in Times New Roman, size 12, with 1.5 spacing. Except in exceptional cases, they should not exceed 10,000 words, including tables, charts, figures, and references. Articles should contain:

  1. a) a summary in Portuguese and English/abstract (up to 10 lines), summarizing the purposes, methodology, and conclusions of the work.
  2. b) 4 to 6 keywords in Portuguese and English that identify the content of the article.

Reviews

Reviews of books published within the last 36 months will be accepted, with a maximum of 2,500 words, in Times New Roman, size 12, with 1.5 spacing, a summary in Portuguese and English/abstract (up to 10 lines), and 4 to 6 keywords.

Bibliographic references should be prepared in accordance with the standards of the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards (ABNT, NBR10520/2023). Submitted articles that do not comply with bibliographic and formatting standards will not be evaluated.

Authors must submit the Open Science Compliance Form:
