About the Journal

The Journal of Microwaves, Optoelectronics and Electromagnetic Applications (JMOe), published by the Brazilian Microwave and Optoelectronics Society (SBMO) and Brazilian Society of Electromagnetism (SBMag), is a professional, refereed publication devoted to disseminating technical information in the areas of Microwaves, Optoelectronics, Photonics, and Electromagnetic Applications. Its ISSN is 2179-1074.

Authors are invited to submit their manuscripts accordingly with the guidelines included in the template. Thus there are no typesetting expenses and no page charges. An online system for submission of manuscripts at www.jmoe.org guides you through the process of entering your article and uploading your files. Papers should be submitted as editable (Word or LibreOffice) and PDF files or Latex and PDF files since the PDF files will be used in the peer-review process. All correspondence, including notification of the Editor's decision and requests for revision, is sent by e-mail.

After acceptance, articles are available worldwide for previewing and downloading through the Internet free of charge. For more information about the Journal, please click in the appropriate icon.

Article Processing Charges (APC)

Journal of Microwaves, Optoelectronics and Electromagnetics Applications is an open access journal. The scientific community and the general public have, for free, unlimited and immediate access to all content published in JMOe, as soon as it is published on the Internet. This means JMOe does not receive any income from selling subscriptions to print or view online versions of its articles of from charging "pay-per-view" fees. The editorial and production costs are collected from the Brazilian Microwave and Optoelectronics Society (SBMO) and the Brazilian Society of Electromagnetism (SBMag). Therefore, Authors are not charged for the article Processing and article Submission costs.

Content License and Publishing Rights

By submitting a manuscript to the JMOe, it is understood that the authors are not and/or will not submit the manuscript elsewhere. Furthermore, if the paper is accepted for publication, the copyright shall be transferred to the JMOe and republication of the paper or material extracted from the paper, including figures and tables, can not occur without our written consent.

Digital Object Identifier (DOI)

The JMOe is indexed in the following bibliographic databases: SciELO, SCOPUS, SIMAGO, EMBASE, Engineering Village, Reaxys, Sumarios.org and Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ). Since JMOe has become a part of the Scientific Electronic Library Online-SciELO's collection, the DOI of its papers can be achieved at the SciELO site www.scielo.br.

History of JMOe

The Journal of Microwaves, Optoelectronics and Electromagnetic Applications was created in 1996 by the Brazilian Microwave and Optoelectronics Society (SBMO) originally named as Journal of Microwaves and Optoelectronics (JMO). It was one of the first electronic scientific journals in Brazil. The first issue was published in May 1997, and in 2005 the first ISSN number was granted: 1516-7399 (now out of use).

The journal remained an exclusive SBMO publication up to 2008, when a joint publication with the Brazilian Society of Electromagnetism (SBMag) was established. On this occasion, the title changed to its current version: Journal of Microwaves, Optoelectronics and Electromagnetic Applications (JMOe). And the ISSN was changed to the current one: 2179-1074.
