SPECIAL ISSUE: TRENDS AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES IN THE PRE-PROCESSING AND STORAGE OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS

The Brazilian Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Engineering (AGRIAMBI) announces the opening of the submission of articles for a special issue on “Trends and emerging technologies in the pre-processing and storage of agricultural products”.

 

Currently, the quest to maintain the quality of agricultural products is a priority for producers, processors, distributors and, finally, for consumers of these products. Complex biochemical changes occur during the storage of agricultural products, especially those harvested with high water content. Living organisms (insects, fungi, mites, rodents, among others) and the components of an inert environment (temperature, relative air humidity, oxygen, and carbon dioxide fluctuations) interact with each other and contribute to the process of deterioration of stored products. In this context, a special edition focusing on new technologies in the pre-processing and storage of agricultural products will contribute to disseminating recent trends. In addition, it will be a reliable source to put into practice knowledge regarding different emerging technologies to be applied in agricultural products.

 

The AGRIAMBI Journal invites researchers to contribute to this special issue, submitting their original scientific articles, and not yet submitted to other journals, as well as literature reviews on new technologies in the pre-processing and storage of agricultural products.

Articles with original research results in the post-harvest of fruits, vegetables and grains, as well as technologies aimed at the implementation and/or improvement of pre-processing and storage facilities for agricultural products will be considered.

 

Articles for this special issue must be submitted between 15/10 and 30/10/2023. The submission must be made through the SciELO System (https://submission.scielo.br/index.php/rbeaa/login), complying with the Instructions to Authors of the AGRIAMBI Journal (https://www.scielo.br/journal/ rbeaa/about/#instructions). For the purpose of identifying the submission for the aforementioned special issue, it is necessary to insert in the Word file of the article “SPECIAL ISSUE: TRENDS AND EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES IN THE PRE-PROCESSING AND STORAGE OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS” before the title of the article. All articles selected for processing will be evaluated with the same rigor and procedures adopted by AGRIAMBI journal. The provisional date for the publication of this special issue is March 31, 2024, referring to volume 28, number 9 of the Journal.

 

We greatly appreciate the researchers' contribution to this special issue on Trends and Emerging Technologies in the Pre-Processing and Storage of Agricultural Products.
