Author Guidelines

Authors may have up to two articles simultaneously in the evaluation process; if an article is approved for publication in this journal, they must wait twelve months to submit a new one. The submission of a text (in Portuguese, English, or Spanish) authorizes its publication and implies a commitment that the same material is not being submitted to another journal. If the text is part of a book in preparation, the authors must provide details regarding the title and the estimated publication date; the book must mention the original publication in Economia e Sociedade. Contributions must be submitted on the journal’s webpage, preferably in doc(x) format; graphs and tables must be submitted in an editable format. In the body of the text, references that allow identification of the authorship should be avoided. The author's or authors' name, institutional affiliation, mailing address, email address, phone number, and fax number must be included in a supplementary file, inserted after the main file. For articles and notes, it is essential to include the title, abstract (maximum of 150 words), and a list of up to five keywords. In articles written in Portuguese or Spanish, this information must also be presented in English, and if in Spanish, it must also be presented in Portuguese. A list of up to five codes from the Journal of Economic Literature classification system must also be included. Graphs, tables (both with title and source), equations, and footnotes should be limited to the text's needs. Complete bibliographical references should be presented at the end of the work and not in footnotes. In the body of the text, references will only include the author's name, original publication date of the work, and pages or chapters used. The submitted manuscript is considered final. The selected texts undergo orthographic and grammatical revision. The journal does not pay royalties. The authors of the articles are responsible for the ideas and concepts contained in the articles.
