PIKETTY E AS DESIGUALDADES NO CAPITALISMO
COLOCANDO ALGUNS PINGOS NOS IS NA ANÁLISE DE “O CAPITAL NO SÉCULO XXI”
Abstract
This paper makes an analysis of the book by Thomas Piketty, The capital in the 21st century, of 2013, on the issue of inequality in capitalism. For this, it is developed in three sections. In the first, it presents the author's main ideas on the evolution of inequality since the nineteenth century, as well as on the causes that have caused its increase in the world from the decade of 1970, as well as its proposal to create a progressive annual tax Incident on capital to reverse this trend. In the second, it seeks to make an alternative theoretical interpretation to that of Piketty, in the light of the transformations known by capitalism and the changes that occurred in economic thought from that time on the causes of this increase in inequalities. In the third, comments are made about what the study presents in the analysis it performs, as well as about its deficiencies for a better understanding of this issue.
