O “NOVO” NOVO RURAL BRASILEIRO NA SEGUNDA DÉCADA DO SÉCULO XXI
Abstract
This paper run a multinomial model and data from the Continuous Pnads in order to evaluate the importance of individual attributes, family features, the family workforce´ occupation type, the per capita family income and the regional location over the probability of a rural family to be non-agricultural or pluriactive in relation to be an agricultural family. Statistical results allow us to conclude that any rural family living outside of Center-West have larger probability to be non-agricultural or pluriative family than to be agricultural family. As the rural family has a retired member among its members, has a greater number of members and its head belongs to black-brown-or-indigenous group increase its probability of being a non-agricultural family, in relation to be an agricultural family. The probability of a rural family to be pluriactive, in relation to be agricultural, increases since it produces for self-consumption, has a beneficiary of the government-allowance-program and has a greater number of dependents.
