Diversificação tecnológica nas mesorregiões do estado de São Paulo: uma análise a partir dos índices de densidade relacional e complexidade
Abstract
This paper discusses the technological diversification possibilities for the different mesoregions of the state of São Paulo based on the perspective of smart specialization policies, supported by the indices of relatedness density and technological complexity. To this end, data from patent applications submitted to the INPI from 2016 to 2020 with at least one Brazilian inventor are used to capture the technological capabilities in the regions. The results show that the state's mesoregions have different potentials for applying technological diversification policies based on high relational density and complexity. While this potential is explicit in regions with a robust science and technology structure, such as the São Paulo Metropolitan Area, the same is not so clear for most regions of the state, where there is low relational density in more complex technologies.
