In April 2016, the editorial team of the journal Economía y Sociedad was composed of six members: the editor-in-chief and five section editors, responsible for different thematic areas. In 2023, two more section editors were added. These additions aimed to improve and speed up the evaluation and publication process of the received submissions. With the same objective, new guidelines regarding submission, evaluation, and publication were adopted, namely: (i) authors may have up to two articles simultaneously in the evaluation process; if they have an article approved for publication in this journal, they must wait twelve months before submitting again; (ii) the deadline for the issuance of the evaluation was reduced to one month; (iii) the pool of reviewers was expanded, with the inclusion of more foreign collaborators; (iv) the journal began publishing articles in English and Spanish.
