Tests based on multiple choice items often use Item Response Theory to estimate parameters within dichotomous models. However, the Nominal Response Model allows studying polytomous items considering the information obtained in the analysis of the alternatives chosen by the respondents. In this sense, the present research aims to interpret the content and alternatives of the Enade 2017 items referring to the Mathematics Degree programs in order to contribute to the deepening of the edumetric analysis of said test, through a quantitative-qualitative approach using the Model of Nominal Response and the perspective of error analysis in mathematics. The results indicate that the Enade 2017 test for the Mathematics Teaching Degree program contained items in need of review by experts in the area and clarify some of the respondents' reasoning.
